2 Period CTE Teacher at Bryce Valley High School

POSITION ANNOUCEMENT:

Garfield County School District is hiring a 2 period CTE teacher specializing in automotive & welding at Bryce Valley High School in Tropic, Utah. This position is an excellent opportunity to inspire students with hands-on, career-focused technical education in a rural school setting. This position will begin with the 2026-2027 school year.

SALARY:

Salary is dependent on experience. There are no benefits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITITES:

• Teach Automotive Technology and Welding courses to high school students
• Provide hands-on, skills-based instruction in shop settings
• Promote safe work practices and proper equipment use
• Prepare students for real-world career pathways and/or industry certifications
• Collaborate with administration and staff to support student success

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate must have or be capable of obtaining a Utah teaching license & needed endorsements within the time frame set by the board of education or be highly qualified in their area of expertise. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required. Experience in automotive repair & welding with knowledge of shop safety standards & procedures is preferred. All applicants must be fingerprinted and satisfactorily pass an employment background check.
