2016-17 School Calendar

The Garfield County School Board has approved the 2016-2017 school calendar.  If you would like to view next year’s school calendar, you can access it by logging onto the district web page at http://www.garfield.k12.ut.us/ go to the district Office menu then select “2016-2017 School Calendar.”  The calendar is traditional in nature with school beginning on August 24, 2016.  A few of the changes include the 2^nd quarter ending January 13, 2017 and 45 days for each quarter, which is a change from this year’s calendar.  Another change is one additional day for spring break beginning April 12, 2017.  Regardless of the approved calendar, public schools must attend 180 days of instruction with a minimum number of 990 hours of instruction.  GCSD attends school 180 days and provides 1,024 hours of instruction.  If you are a planner and would like a copy of the new calendar, please visit our district web page.
