Full-Time Maintenance & Custodial Supervisor in Bryce Valley

Position Overview:
The Maintenance and Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance, repair, and upkeep of our Bryce Valley Elementary & High Schools. This position ensures that our buildings, grounds, and equipment provide safe, clean, and functional learning environments for our students and staff.

We Will Train You On:
- District-specific HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Our maintenance management software and work order systems
- District policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Specialized equipment and tools used in our facilities
- Emergency response procedures specific to our district
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Repair
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment, fixtures, and building components
- Maintain and repair playground equipment, athletic facilities, and outdoor spaces
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations
- Ensure facilities meet all safety, health, and accessibility standards
Grounds & Building Upkeep
- Maintain campus grounds including lawn care, snow removal, and landscaping
- Perform minor carpentry, painting, and general building repairs
- Monitor and maintain the buildings security systems
- Ensure proper storage and maintenance of tools and equipment
Supervision & Coordination
- Coordinate with custodial staff to ensure comprehensive facility care
- Supervise part-time maintenance staff or contractors when needed
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
- Communicate effectively with administration regarding facility needs and projects
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address hazards promptly
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire marshal, and health department regulations
- Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and proper chemical storage
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and drills
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Utah driver license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, or related trades
- Strong work ethic and commitment to reliability
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor
- Willingness to learn and take direction
Preferred (But We Will Train If You Don’t Have These):
- Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, or related trades
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems
- Experience with power tools and maintenance equipment
- Grounds maintenance or landscaping experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Vocational training or technical certifications
Working Conditions:
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday (4 x 10 hours), with occasional evening or weekend work for events or emergencies
- Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects
- Environment: Work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
- On-Call: May be required to respond to emergency situations outside regular hours
