Full-Time Teacher at Bryce Valley Elementary School
POSITION AVAILABLE:
Garfield County School District is looking for a dedicated and qualified elementary teacher with an emphasis in English Language Learners (ELL) and academic intervention to join the team at Bryce Valley Elementary School in Tropic, Utah, for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time position within a supportive rural district that values relationships and community engagement. The teacher in this role will work with English learners and students who need targeted interventions, while also providing strong core instruction in the general education setting.
SALARY:
Beginning Step and Lane according to 2025-2026 Garfield County School District Certified Salary Schedule. Salary based on skill, education, and experience. This is a benefited position, working 157-day contract/4 days a week; and includes retirement, health/life insurance & paid time off.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach English to non-native speakers, focusing on speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and pronunciation.
- Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet the needs of students at varying language proficiency levels and learning styles.
- Support students who need academic intervention, particularly in reading and math, using data to guide instruction.
- Provide individualized and small group instruction to help students meet grade-level expectations.
- Assess student progress regularly, adjust instruction based on student needs, and give timely, constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interventionists, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Communicate regularly and clearly with parents and guardians about student learning and progress.
- Stay informed about current best practices in ELL instruction and intervention and participate in district professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
- A valid Utah teaching License (or ability to obtain one within the time frame set by the board of education).
- ESL Endorsement or willingness to obtain one
- Fluent in Spanish
- Experience working with English learners or in intervention settings
- Strong Classroom management and communication skills
- Cultural awareness and a genuine interest in supporting diverse learners
