SAGE Assessment Report

In the spring of 2014, students across the State of Utah participated in the new end of level SAGE assessments administered by the Utah State Office of Education. Students in grades 3-11 were tested in mathematics, language arts and science. The assessments were new to students and they were tested on new standards with new scores. With all of the changes in the SAGE assessments, schools will be meeting with parents to review their student’s testing data. The testing data will allow teachers and parents to more accurately determine where students are academically in regard to other grades and college career readiness. The SAGE assessments will provide detailed interventions to parents and teachers throughout the year. I have included a summary including the State, District, and school proficiency averages. If you would like to see a more detailed SAGE report, you can log on to the Garfield School District webpage, select “District Office” scroll down select “SAGE Assessment”. You are also welcome to log into the USOE webpage at: https://datagateway.schools.utah.gov/SAGE to access SAGE data for any school in the State of Utah. The District will continue to work to improve the education students receive in the Garfield School District. I am confident in our teachers and their abilities to provide the quality academic instruction needed to help students become college and career ready.
