EES, PES Title I Recognition

High Performing Title I Schools

The Utah State Office of Education has issued a letter recognizing Escalante Elementary and Panguitch Elementary as recipients of the 2013 Utah “High Performing Title I School Recognition”.  A Title I school is a federal program that provides financial assistance to schools with a high percentage of economically disadvantaged students.  The percentage is based on the number of students who qualify for free and reduced lunch.  Panguitch Elementary was also recognized as a “High Progress Title I School”.  With this recognition, both schools will be eligible to be nominated for the National Title I Distinguished Award.  The Utah State Office of Education will select two schools in the State to attend the National Title I conference in San Diego, California.   I would like to compliment the faculty and staffs of these two schools on their academic accomplishments.  I would also like to thank anyone who helps students in our communities achieve academic success.
