Happy Thanksgiving

With the Thanksgiving holiday upon us, I would like to express my thankfulness to all of the employees in the Garfield School District. They work diligently each day to help the students in our District achieve their greatest academic potential. In order for a school district to function effectively, it takes everyone working in harmony to achieve the common goal of high-quality academic instruction. It starts with the bus driver picking up students and delivering them safely to school each day. Teachers prepare curriculum and plan for the students and when enter the classroom they are greeted by a teacher who knows them by name and genuinely cares about each student. Para educators provide additional resources to students in reading, writing, mathematics, libraries, and computer labs. Custodians work to make sure the facilities are clean and safe for our students. Secretaries handle calls, receipt lunch money, and oversee records and reports for the school. Lunch works prepare lunch and breakfast for the students to ensure their nutritional needs are met. School principals, manage the daily operations of the schools with a genuine concern for the students in their buildings. Coaches spend time with our student athletes to teach teamwork, character building, and sportsmanship. The District office handles all of the payroll, testing, finance, state reporting, maintenance and technology needs for the students in the District. The School Board approves the policies, budgets, curriculum, and expenditures. I appreciate the parents and grandparents who help students with homework or listen to students read. It takes all of us to impact student achievement. I am truly thankful for all of the employees in the Garfield School District who help students in our schools in all aspects. This District is a wonderful place to work because of the many great people who make their careers and dedicate their time to helping the students in our District achieve their academic potential. Thank you for allowing me to be the Superintendent of the Garfield School. I consider it an honor and a privilege to work in this profession with such wonderful individuals and students.
