2016 Sterling Scholar Winners
On April 7, 2016, I had the privilege of attending the 38th Annual Sterling Scholar Awards Program presented by KSL Broadcasting Group and the Desert News. Students from Bryce Valley High School and Panguitch High School competed against high school seniors in Beaver, Iron, Kane, and Washington districts. I would like to congratulate and complement all of the students from Garfield County School District who competed in this very competitive and prestigious competition. Each Student dedicates many hours to organize and complete a portfolio, followed by interviews by category judges. I would like to congratulate Makayla Dalton (Social Science) and Jantzen Orton (Business and Marketing) from Panguitch High School, for being selected as a runner up in the Sterling Scholar Competition at Dixie State University. I would also like to thank those individuals from our district who volunteered their time to judge the Sterling Scholar candidates and help our students prepare for the competition.
